Do you have enthusiasm, interest or expertise in a particular subject? Are you a fan of something – a musical genre, a style of cooking,a particular sport – and know a lot about it? Do you have a store of knowledge about fishing, motorbikes or knitting? Have you got data about football at your fingertips? Perhaps you are interested in how different demographics voted in the last election, or space exploration, or the number of different varieties of butterflies in the UK? It really doesn’t matter what the subject is since anything apparently dull to the uninitiated can be made interesting by how you present it. This is your opportunity to tell us about something we know little about. We want you to assemble some data about a subject of your choice and devise an infographic which presents it in an engaging and informative way for an inquisitive and intelligent audience aged 18+. The tone can be serious, or light-hearted, as you see fit. Remember to consider carefully the choice of image and typographic styling as appropriate to your subject matter and audience.

DEVELOPMENT
Creating the initial shape and some basic graphics.
Adding more colour, I decided that I prefer a black background.
I liked these layouts but they needed more information, as they weren't clear enough for an astrology novice to understand.
Final designs
I added some context and deeper information about everything in the chart, so that someone who has no idea about astrology can begin to understand.
Infographic storyboard
My idea for an animation is an interactive infographic, by clicking on a specific part of the infographic this will bring up more detailed information about whatever it is that the user clicks on.
Using the Scorpio star sign as an example of how the animation would work, when clicking on the symbols from the inside of the diagram to the outside.
