From the copy provided choose a manifesto text and produce three different typographic layouts, which present the information given in a visually attractive way. The presentation should enable the reader to immediately understand the nature and theme of the text. Each layout is to use a different combination of format and typefaces. Restrictions for this project are: - One typeface in any weight and as many sizes as necessary - Two typefaces in any weight, each in any size - One typeface in bold & regular format, in any size. - Only black, white & tones of these to be used.
RESEARCH
Grids
Grids are a useful design tool, as they help designers create hierarchy & order. Grids also assist with creating the correct amount of negative space.
GRIDS IN CONTEXT
Noticing grid systems whilst researching.
Type Hierarchy & Posters
Some type only posters that I found inspiring & relevant to the brief.
I liked my initial designs but decided that some of them needed a little more negative space. I'd initially started off working with a grid, and then got too into designing that I forgot to utilise grids.
Typefaces used are: ITC Avante Garde, Muli, Abolition.
Further development
I initially chose these as my final designs as I felt that they had the most visual impact.
Final designs
After feedback I improved my favourite current design, and created some new ones.
